INDABA-NETWORK
Our utopia
Animated by universal values and human rights, we believe that the promotion of modern forms of education, youth empowerment, and enhancement of social engagement can develop active citizenship, from the local to global levels, and make the world a little more human.
Our intentions
- While development of the world increases wealth and trade, it also engenders inequality. Our planet is suffering in its fragile ecological balance. Intolerance, corruption, and confiscation of wealth lead to social tensions and increases the risk of violence and conflict. We can improve this situation through better awareness and developing human relations of cooperation and solidarity. We can influence humans to live in harmony with their planet. We can help build a more just and peaceful world. To do this, Indaba-Network wishes to combine the forces of change already at work and help with the emergence of new initiatives.
- We believe that education is not limited to the transmission of knowledge, but must realize all the capabilities of every human being. We wish to contribute to the development of research and action for a liberating education that opens minds and sets progress in motion.
- Around the world, young people wish to contribute to the development of a different world, but new generations are often excluded from decision-making bodies, including those making policies on issues that affect directly their lives and future. We want to help young people to take their place, to develop innovative projects, to share experiences and resources.
- Voluntary organizations based on universal values are active in critical areas for the future. But in an interconnected and interdependent world that is changing quickly, they must learn to rethink their governance structures and to remain relevant and play their part. Indaba-Network conducts research in this area and helps to share good practices regarding new models of organization.
